1000 patients now recruited to Paramedic-3 trial!

Paramedic 3

The Research team here in EEAST are pleased to say that trained Paramedics have recruited over 100 patients to the PARAMEDIC-3 trial.

This trial looks at IO versus IV access for drug delivery in OHCA. The sample of patients required across the UK is 15,000 to ensure there is good quality data to show any significant difference.

As sad as it is that we attend these arrest calls, each patient that is recruited to the trial enables us to collect the relevant data which will hopefully improve cardiac arrests for patients in the future.

We are grateful to all involved in the trial and there is still an opportunity to be involved!

There is another year of data collection, so please come on board to be part of this national cardiac arrest study.

Stations which are set-up for the trial are: Harlow, Basildon, Southend, Chelmsford, Colchester, Ipswich, Waveney, Longwater, Bury St Edmunds, and Luton.

If any of these stations are in your area and you would like to be involved, then please contact shona.brown@eastamb.nhs.uk
