A big thank you from the ePCR team

Ambulance side shot

Since the launch of the iPads and the new Siren software in 2021 the goal has been to complete all patient care records digitally and go entirely paperless as per NHS long term plan.

We have been monitoring the compliance to ePCR since the launch but have seen a steep rise in usage over the past 12 months.

In February 2023 the overall compliance for the Trust was 91% with each STP running at between 90% - 94% compliant. This is the highest level of ePCR compliance EEAST has ever seen in all the time we have had an ePCR solution available, so thank you to everyone who continues to use the iPad to complete their patient records digitally. We continue to aim for each STP area to have an ePCR compliance as close to 100% as possible.

We know the hard work doesn’t stop here, we are constantly working to improve the features within Siren, and we always welcome constructive feedback to help improve Siren or the iPad. If you’d like to offer ideas, or feedback email us at epcr@eastamb.nhs.uk.

We know that things don’t always go to plan, and a simple issue such as a forgotten password or fault, can cause a multitude of problems, which sometimes result in a user casting aside the iPad, and returning to paperwork. The IT service desk is accessible on any trust PC or on East24. If you still have access to your iPad or can get help from a friend with a working iPad, there is a green service desk icon where a user can log in and log a fault, or the link is available here. If you have forgotten your office 365 password (which you need to log a ticket) you can use someone else’s iPad, have them log in, and on the ticket you can select this ticket is about someone else.

If you have any questions about Siren Nova, password resets, new users, faulty or damaged devices. Please consult the quick reference guides under knowledge base once logged into the service desk.

Forgotten your passcode? Did you know you can unlock your own iPad? Log into ‘My device’ and select clear passcode.

Apple regularly release iOS updates for the iPad, we know that the iPad should automatically update, however, we know this isn’t always the case. We are currently on iOS version 16.3 so please ensure under settings - general - software - update the latest iOS is installed.

Please also ensure that Siren is on the latest version 5.6.0 as this will not always automatically update, and you will not have the latest features until the Siren update has been completed. Before updating please make sure all records are finalised and off the Siren home screen. Then find the hub - apps - all apps - Siren Nova - reinstall. If you experience issues updating contact the IT Service Desk.

Once again, thank you to everyone who is proactively using the iPad, and all its new features including IC24 portal and summary care record access.
