All staff message from Tom Abell, Chief Executive

Dear all,

As you will likely know, the National Education Union have confirmed strike days by education staff on 1^st February and 1^st, 15^th & 16^th March 2023.

We know that some of you have already received a letter from your child’s school to inform you of this and of the fact that the impact of the strike is difficult to estimate, as teachers do not need to declare the intent to take industrial action ahead of the day.

We are also aware that schools may be prioritising places for children of critical workers, therefore if you are due to work on any of these dates, please do speak to your children’s school as early as possible to see whether this is the case.  Please also consider alternative childcare arrangements in case your school closes unexpectedly.

We appreciate that the potential of this industrial action is stressful for parents and caregivers. If you envisage needing support with your shifts, please do speak with your manager before 1^st February.

We cannot know for certain the level of this industrial action until Wednesday, but will keep you informed of any information we can.
