The Trust has recognised the challenge that significant student abstraction has on our capacity and the impact that this has on colleagues. Having listened to feedback we have therefore recently written to our second year Anglia Ruskin students in relation to study leave. The letters were designed to give students the choice if they wish to undertake their study time as overtime. This provides individual choice and flexibility and may help alleviate significant abstractions at key periods. However, it does not remove the right for students to take their study leave as paid time off, i.e. to be removed from shifts to enable them to complete their studies, and this will be facilitated locally if the student prefers to do that.
