Freedom to Speak Up needs you!

• Do you believe you have the skills and experience to support staff who want to raise a concern?
• Do you demonstrate the Trust values and behaviours?
• Do you have excellent communication skills and can show empathy and compassion for others?

If you answered yes to these questions then we would love you to consider applying for a role as one of our Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) Ambassadors. The role is open to everyone, from all service areas and bandings, regardless of whether you are an employee, volunteer or student.

We are particularly looking for:

• Students from across the region

Staff in:

• PTS
• AOC (including SPOC and ECAT)
• Operational staff from Hertfordshire and West Essex, Mid and South Essex, Bedfordshire and Luton
• Corporate, support and administrative services

What will I have to do?

As an Ambassador you will:

• promote speaking up within your working area
• be a trusted colleague who will listen and signpost staff to relevant support services
• escalate more serious, complex concerns on patient/staff safety to the FTSU team
• undertake relevant training and dedicate the equivalent of one full day a month to supporting your colleagues – additional time arrangements will be made to support the role.

Please note, this is a voluntary role, to be undertaken alongside your existing role. To avoid duplication and increase the reach of speaking up, we will not be accepting applications from staff who currently hold voluntary positions within the Trust.
