Covid and seasonal respiratory illness update

The number of staff with COVID and Seasonal Respiratory Infections has risen rapidly in some areas of the Trust and we continue to monitor case numbers daily. 

The risk of staff passing on or acquiring infections in the workplace and outbreaks occurring has increased to a level where we have reintroduced mandatory mask wearing in some areas.   For all areas please continue to follow all other good practices such as 

• Hand hygiene
• Decontaminating workstations/vehicles
• Checking temperatures
• Being vigilant for symptoms and testing if symptomatic or if asked to by the COVID Team
• Not attending work if not well enough or COVID positive
• Use office space, training and crew rooms appropriately as per local instructions
• Utilise outlying stations for meal breaks
• Ventilate areas appropriately
• Continue to wear masks as minimum whilst in contact with patients
• Follow the rules of any establishment you attend e.g care home, hospital
• Please report symptoms to line managers
