Crisis line provider change

EEAST have made the decision to use the Ambulance Staff Charity (TASC) crisis line which will replace the Kays Medical Crisis Line. This will be effective from 13th April 2023.

Calls to the Kays Crisis Line number will be diverted to the TASC line for a further 3 months.

The number for the TASC line direct is 0300 373 0898

As a result of this there will no longer be immediate welfare support provided by Kays crisis team at a manager’s request. Kays will still be able to support with some welfare checks, but these will be subject to availability of nursing staff and no longer out of hours.

Manager’s will not be informed if a member of their team has called; and will not be able to call the crisis line if they are with someone in distress.

If you are with an employee in distress, it is recommended that you encourage them to call the TASC crisis line, or the Trust EAP which are both 24/7 services.

The EAP provides support for mental health issues, workplace and personal relationship problems, legal and family advice, substance misuse concerns and financial advice.
