Overtime Incentive Scheme
The Trust is offering incentive payments for overtime shifts following short-notice operational abstractions and in response to continued risks from ambulance handover delays. 

The additional payments are available on specified dates in specified areas, subject to advanced authorisation:

Shifts of at least 8 hours, starting after 10:00hrs and finishing by 02:00hrs on Monday 21st June 2022.

Staff working pre-agreed overtime on:

  • Shifts rostered as part of a two -person crew on a double staffed ambulance.

Sunday 19th June 2022

Shifts of 12 hours, starting after 10:00hrs and finishing by 02:00hrs on Monday 21st June 2022.

Staff working pre-agreed overtime on:

  • Shifts rostered as part of a two -person crew on a double staffed ambulance.

 

To remain eligible for the additional payments: 

  • Only the dates and times specified on the table above attract the additional payments.
  • Only the resource types or specialism on the table above attract the additional payments.
  • Shifts must be a minimum of eight hours in length and must be agreed with local manager or Sector Resource Planning Manager in advance.
  • Overtime will be paid at the applicable AFC rate.
  • All part time, full time and bank staff are eligible for the additional payments.
  • No cancellation of any pre-booked overtime or sickness absence between 08.06.22 - 20.06.22 inclusive.
  • No other absences other than pre-booked annual leave.
  • Personal compliance with relevant IPC standards at the time are maintained.

Local areas will dynamically control the availability of overtime shifts based on their staffing need/risk; therefore specific arrangements/limits may exist in certain areas.

It is the responsibility of all staff to ensure that the Working Time Directive is complied with.
Managers will ensure the wellbeing of all staff undertaking additional duties and maintain compliance with statutory rest periods.
