EDS22 Consultation Dates

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team would like to invite all staff and stakeholders to our three consultation events. This is to consult on the following:

The Equality Delivery System (EDS22) is a framework that supports NHS organisations to make improvements on equality, diversity and inclusion for the benefit of their staff, patients and the communities they serve.

The EDS was created in 2011 but there was a requirement to grade the standard every four years. Since the refresh in 2022 of this EDS, NHS England have made it a requirement for Trusts to grade this standard annually.

On 11th July 2023 we will be asking you to grade:

Equality Delivery System 2: Domain 3 - Inclusive leadership

3A: Board members, system leaders (Band 9 and VSM) and those with line management responsibilities routinely demonstrate their understanding of, and commitment to, equality and health inequalities.

3B: Board/Committee papers (including minutes) identify equality and health inequalities related impacts and risks and how they will be mitigated and managed.

3C: Board members and system leaders (Band 9 and VSM) ensure levers are in place to manage performance and monitor progress with staff and patients.

We will be asking participants to score the Trust as follows:

  • Undeveloped
  • Developing
  • Achieving
  • Excelling

Scoring will be conducted using Mentimeter, so please have your mobile phones on you.

As part of the consultation, evidence for grading is presented and stakeholders are asked to grade it accordingly. Any areas identified as under-developed or developing will then be supported by an action plan to help EEAST achieving better results and improve service delivery.

If you would like to participate in a different way other than Teams, we would be more than happy to post consultation papers and a scoring card upon request. Please let us know of any other alternative ways of communication to suit your needs.

The EDI Team looks forward to welcoming you to this consultation.
