EEAST New PhD opportunity

A development opportunity has arisen to complete a PhD with Anglian Ruskin University or the University of Hertfordshire.

ARU Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care are recruiting candidates whose research interests are associated with organisation, workforce, equity and diversity and sustainability.

They have three strategic research, innovation, and impact themes:

  • Health, Performance and Wellbeing
  • Sustainable Futures
  • Safe and Inclusive Communities

PhD fees will be waived (no cost) and the project will be fully supervised and personal development supported with £500 per year.  The candidate can opt for full (3 years) or part- time (5 years) study.

To apply you must have a master’s degree (or equivalent).  Your study proposal MUST be a critical topic for EEAST and have your manager’s approval.  You will negotiate a minimum of 2 day a week (full-time) or 1 day a week (part-time) as study leave.

You will need to complete an expression of interest and submit it to Sally.Fowler-Davis@aru.ac.uk or Gillian.Janes@aru.ac.uk by Monday 30th Oct 2023 at 4pm.

Successful candidates will be invited to complete a full application form by Monday 27th Nov and interviews will take place during the week beginning 11th December.  The PhD will begin in Jan 2024 and up to five studentships will be awarded, the aim being to enable students to form a community of practice for mutual support and interest across organisations.

The University of Hertfordshire (UH)  is inviting applications for i) a 3-year, fully-funded, full time PhD studentship for graduates from health and social care programmes in topics relevant to an aspect of Health or Social Care. They particularly welcome early career research applicants who have graduated within the last 5-7 years with a Bachelors or Masters degree.

This PhD studentship may have an extension for a fourth year, if required and sufficient progress made in years 1-3.
