ePCR iPad Trial Begins with Medicare EMS

This week we began the trial of EEASTs ePCR iPad device with our private ambulance provider Medicare EMS. Unlike the personal issue devices used by EEAST frontline staff, these devices have be set up to be shared by a crew on a vehicle.

The devices unique profile allows access to the Siren ePCR, along with various apps that EEAST staff would find on their devices. On top of this links specific to Medicare have been included to help the users access their digital fault report and shift log forms.

The trial will be run until the end of September out of Medicare’s Braintree base and all crews commencing their shift there will be able to use the devices.

If all goes well with the trial the Trust will look to move forward in expanding this to all Medicare EMS sites within the EEAST region as well as rolling out to our other private providers. This will further reduce the number of paper PCR’s that our created for our patients improving data security, legibility and consistency of our records.

Matt McDonnell Medicare EMS CEO says ‘Its been great to work in collaboration with EEAST on this project.  Medicare are thrilled to be EEAST first private provider trailing the iPad solution in this exciting new initiative.’
