Get your flu jab sooner rather than later

Boost your immunity this winter

Flu is a highly transmissible and serious infectious disease caused by a virus, which occurs in the winter months. It is best to have your flu vaccination as early as you can before the flu rates rise. Immunity from the vaccine develops after around 10 – 14 days.

We’re offering vaccines up until the end of November so please do not delay. You can find an up-to-date list of all our available clinics here. If you are unable to find a flu clinic near you, please email flu@eastamb.nhs.uk and they will be able to help you.

As a health or social care worker, you’re more likely to be exposed to the flu and COVID-19 viruses. You care for people who may be at greater risk and it’s easy to pass these viruses on without knowing.

The viruses that cause flu can change every year so don’t assume you are protected because you had one last year.

Make sure you are protected this winter and get the flu jab sooner rather than later.

If you have the vaccine at a location other than within the Trust it is important that you let us know you have been vaccinated so we can update our own records. We are required to report that all staff have been offered the vaccine.

Thank you to everyone who has either had a vaccine so far or completed the appropriate forms to say you have declined or had it elsewhere, your participation is greatly appreciated.
