Govroam launch

Wifi

The EEAST Digital Delivery team will soon be launching access to a new connectivity service called Govroam across our region onto all trust devices. Don’t worry there is nothing you need to do.  Govroam works automatically.  It is part of our strategy to keep you WiFi enabled as much as possible.

What is Govroam?

Govroam is a national roaming service which provides ‘zero touch’ internet access to public sector staff across the UK.

Hundreds of public sector organisations currently use Govroam, including NHS Trusts, local authorities and emergency services.

Govroam internet access mirrors our guest wireless (please refer to the Trust's Internet Access Policy on East24) and is for business use only.

You can use GovRoam Network with Siren ePCR, you will get a Green Light connection as GovRoam is an approved provider.

What does this mean?

This means that if you arrive at a Govroam enabled hospital or building, your device will automatically pick up Govroam and start using its WiFi.

When you are in the vicinity of a Govroam provider your device will automatically use it.  There is nothing for you to do at all.

Where is Govroam?

Govroam is enabled regionwide but currently active in the following key locations within our region. Find other places.

  • Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn
  • Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust (known locally as Old West Norwich OR Bowthrope Road Hospital**)
  • Hellesdon Hospital
  • West Suffolk Hospital
  • Colchester Hospital
  • Ipswich Hospital

We will keep you updated as more places offer Govroam.
