GRS Migration to SaaS (Software as a Service)

GRS

The Trust will soon be migrating to GRS SaaS (Global Rostering System Software as a Service). The current GRS (Global Rostering System) solution that is used by EEAST is an old solution which is at end of life, it is not modifiable and does not give any options for integration.

What is it?

Currently GRS is hosted in our Azure Cloud, the SaaS migration will see the move to a managed system solution. In essence, a cloud hosted by our GRS supplier - Total Mobile.

What does this mean for me?

The day to day system use of GRS will remain unchanged however, the good news is that the move to the new environment will facilitate access to new developments that will improve the functionality in GRS, GRS Web and the soon to be released GRS App.

When?

The move is scheduled for late October and on the day of the migration there will be a planned outage. Nearer the time there will be more details of the timings, together with any preparation that will be needed for that day.

From an end-user perspective, there will be no change to the look and feel of the new solution.
