HR Policy Update

The Transgender and Non-Binary Equality Policy is the first policy to be written and published by the Trust on the 30th June via MetaCompliance. This was a fantastic way to end Pride month, which promotes the celebration and commemoration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT+) pride. If you have not already, please take the time to view the policy, understand its contents, and select ‘Read’ once complete.

There is an ongoing project to review and modernise HR policies, including updating them to a more user-friendly format. Eventually all Trust policies will be transferred to MetaCompliance, with HR policies being the first ones to transition. Further updates on progress will follow.

The benefits of storing our policies on MetaCompliance are:

  • The search function is simple and clear to use: You can search for a policy by its name, the document reference number (if known) or via related keywords.
  • You can see what version of the policy you have viewed: This can be helpful when keeping up to date with new or revised policies.
  • It highlights which policies in your Library are outstanding: We hope this will help with compliance to ensure policies are read by all staff as this is what our contracts are bound by.
  • Increased compliance can increase knowledge and understanding.
  • Ability to make notes and comments on policies for own use.
  • A ‘Read Aloud’ feature is on the roadmap for development via Microsoft Edge.

For anyone who is unfamiliar with using MetaCompliance, please read this step-by step-guide:

  1. Go to ‘East24’, select ‘Quick Links’, and scroll down to find the link for ‘MetaCompliance’.

  2. Insert your Trust email address and select ‘Next’.
  3. Once logged in, you will be presented with the dashboard below where you can see an overview of any material that has been assigned to you and whether it has been completed or outstanding. Select ‘Policies’ to find the most recent Transgender and Non-Binary Equality Policy or click on ‘Compliance Library’ to see the full suite of policies/documents/training material that you have previously read.

  4. This is the ‘Compliance Library’ and is where you can search for policies/staff awareness alerts and other content using keywords.

  5. Within the Policy Library you can find, open, and read any policies even if they have already been completed previously.

To open a document, select ‘View’.

  6. This will take you directly to the content selected and any attached documents can be found under ‘Related Items’. In this case, the Transitioning Action Plan has been attached.

If it is the first time you are viewing a policy, or if you have not done so already, you will be required to select ‘Read’. This will appear on the tab at the bottom next to ‘Back to Policies’. By selecting this, it will mark the document as complete in your Policy Library.

We hope this helps you to locate policies and other material you may have been sent. However, if you have any queries or concerns, please contact informationgovernance@eastamb.nhs.uk.
