Improvement week in Norfolk and Waveney to help end delays for patients

Ambulance line up blue sky

This week doctors, nurses and other health and social care professionals will be jumping on board ambulances in Norfolk and Waveney to bring new eyes to the fight to end delays for patients.

The medical teams will join colleagues in Norfolk and Waveney from 9-13 October for an ‘improvement week’. Working alongside crews, dispatchers, and call handlers to better understand the issues behind delays for patients – and help identify ways to resolve them.

They’ll be able to see how barriers at each part of a patients’ journey – from the ambulance call, to getting into A&E and through to diagnosis and treatment – can contribute to delays.

The week will be run as a continuous improvement exercise and will use QI approaches to capture real time information and potential solutions to the challenges we face.

Keep an eye out for the executive message on Thursday where we’ll be sharing an update on the week.
