Industrial action message from the CEO

Tom Abell 2

Dear colleagues,

As you will be aware, several healthcare unions have balloted their members in response to several issues, including pay.

I would first like to thank you all for your ongoing commitment to providing the best care possible for the patients, despite the challenges we face. Your constant dedication has been the reason we are seeing the beginning of improvements here at the Trust.

All of us on the Executive Board understand your concerns around the issue of pay and the difficult conditions faced by colleagues.

We are also keen to ensure we continue to do all we can to serve the people of our communities that rely on us – sometimes to save their lives. It is vitally important we ensure as far as possible to protect our patients as a result of this issue.

At regional and national level staffside partners are working with management to continue to deliver safe patient care. At EEAST we are working closely with the unions over this issue and will continue to strengthen our partnership working.

If you have any queries regarding the potential for industrial action, please speak to your line manager, union representative, People Partners (HRBP) or email HRadvice@eastamb.nhs.uk.

Thank you for everything you do.
