It’s good to talk – Men's Wellbeing Network encourages open conversations

We are excited to share an update from the EEAST Men's Wellbeing Network (MWN), which has been making great strides since its inaugural meeting back in July. Our network is dedicated to promoting mental health and overall wellbeing among male colleagues, and we are pleased to report on our upcoming events and initiatives.

The inaugural meeting held in July was a resounding success, featuring inspiring lived experience stories from some of our very own EEAST colleagues. If you missed it, you can catch up on the highlights of the meeting here. During this meeting, we delved into emotional topics and shared valuable insights, making it a worthwhile watch for everyone.

Now, we're gearing up for our second Tri-Service event, set to take place on Monday, November 20th, 2023. This event, organized in partnership with Essex Police and Essex Fire Service, comes right after International Men's Day (IMD). Just like last year, we're offering both in-person and MS Teams attendance options, making it accessible to all.

You can join in person at Kelvedon Park between 10:00am to 3.00pm – or if you’d prefer, you can join online to listen to the speakers if you can’t be there on the day.

Please book one place only – either to join in person or an online ticket:

In-person tickets: International Men's Day Event - join us at Kelvedon Park,ECFRS SHQ

Online tickets: International Men's Day Event - join us online via Teams

Since our inaugural meeting in July, we have been hard at work, thanks to the dedication of our colleagues in the Police and Fire Service. This year's event carries the theme "It's good to talk," and it's a message we are eager to convey to all our male colleagues here at EEAST.

To support this message, we are planning to host a series of webinars on various subjects. We kick start the series with a focus on Men's Mental Health in early November. We invite each and every one of you to join us in building momentum for IMD and to help spread the crucial messages about men's mental health and the importance of open communication among men.

If you want to be part of this important network and contribute to supporting your male colleagues, please reach out to us at MWN@eastamb.nhs.uk

The EEAST Men's Wellbeing Network is committed to creating a supportive and open environment for all, and together, we can make a difference in the lives of our colleagues. Let's remember,

"It's good to talk."

Stay tuned for more updates and join us in our journey towards better mental health and wellbeing for all.
