Learning event: air ambulance trauma day open to colleagues

The East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) team are inviting EEAST colleague to attend their next clinical governance day – a free session completely dedicated to case studies, discussion, and joint learning.

Taking place from 11am-4.30pm on Friday, 3rd February in Newmarket, they’ll be looking at ‘thoracic and abdominal trauma’, including:

  • thoracotomy
  • pre-hospital resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta, REBOA (a type of roadside balloon surgery to control internal bleeding)
  • traumatic cardiac arrest
  • forensic radiology.

With guest speakers from the Royal London Hospital joining the day, this is a great opportunity to access some free learning and hear subject experts share their trauma knowledge.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided, so if you want to take part all you have to do is sign up! Visit the EAAA website to register for a place, or take a look at the team’s Facebook page (search East Anglian Air Ambulance clinical governance days) to find out more.

Places are limited, and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis – so get your request in soon!

The governance day is taking place at: The British Racing School, Snailwell Road, Newmarket, Suffolk, CB8 7NU. Colleagues from EEAST are welcome to join the session at 11am.

If you have any other questions about the clinical governance day, please feel free to contact Critical Care Paramedic Rob Riches at rob.riches@eastamb.nhs.uk.
