As part of our work to continuously improve the culture and experience of working at EEAST, the Trust is set to launch the ‘Let’s Talk’ campaign this October.

The ‘Let’s Talk’ campaign will bring together a range of actions that are either already taking place, or to due to begin development soon, and raise awareness around subject matters that you may come across throughout your time at the Trust that may impact on people’s culture and working life at the Trust.

As part of the ‘Let’s Talk’ campaign, the Trust will be rolling out a schedule of engagement activities called ‘safe conversations’ where people will have the opportunity to join a virtual call in a safe environment to discuss the topic of the month. The topics of these ‘safe conversations’ have been chosen from the results of the equality and diversity surveys that took place in the last year.

Dr Hein Scheffer, Director of Strategy, Culture and Education said: “We all want the Trust to be a safe and inclusive place to work for everyone. The ‘Let’s Talk’ campaign will help support this vision and get us closer to fulfilling this goal.

“By opening these conversations in a safe environment, we are allowing people to have healthy and informative conversations that will improve their cultural awareness both in and out of their working role.”

As well as introducing ‘safe conversation’ as a key part of this campaign, the ‘Let’s Talk’ campaign will also highlight key awareness days in the equality, diversity and inclusion calendar to help promote and educate in this space. The campaign will also run alongside the three annual equality surveys, of which the results and actions will directly feed into this campaign.
