Menopause Awareness – An Update

Our Menopause Awareness Sessions have proven to be popular and, judging by the feedback, very successful.  It’s due to this and to our relentless and passionate desire to obliterate any residual misconceptions about the Menopause, Menopausal women and specifically Menopausal women in the workplace, that we have scheduled another full year of sessions for you to sign up to.

Also, the big news of the past couple of months is that we, as a Trust have qualified as a Menopause Friendly Employer!  We couldn’t have achieved this without the support and encouragement from the Herts & West Essex ICS, our Executive Sponsors, the AWE Network, our colleagues that have allowed us to use their communication channels and those of you that have attended our sessions – we thank you!

We love facilitating these sessions and have met some amazing people, doing amazing things whilst being affected by the symptoms associated with the Menopause.  When we say those being affected, we aren’t only speaking about women.  We are mindful that the many and varied symptoms can be felt by all those around us, it would be hard not to.  By removing the stigma often attached to the Menopause and coming out of the shadows when we speak about it, we have the opportunity to give a voice to those people who would ordinarily keep it to themselves.  In doing so, they go unsupported, unheard and too often feel they have no option but to resign from their positions.  This can not be the only option!

Please support us in continuing to fight the fight against inequality and exclusion.  By caring for ourselves and each other, we are better able to care for our patients – it’s that simple.
