Menopause awareness and training available

Menopause

Within the NHS our biggest growing cohort of staff are menopausal women.

The 18 October is world Menopause day created by the IMS (International Menopause Society) and WHO. During this week the EEAST Health and Wellbeing team in conjunction with All Women in EEAST network will hold two events. Our new Head of Health and Wellbeing, Debs Crelly is an accredited menopause trainer, and has a network called ‘MyPause’ which provides inclusive support to those experiencing challenging symptoms.

  • The first is a lunchtime awareness session on Monday 16th October 2023 on Microsoft Teams from 12:30pm

This is an inclusive session because learning about menopause is for everyone. Join us to find out what this challenging phase in a woman's life is and how it can affect performance in the workplace. How you can support your team, your colleagues, your friends and family or yourself.

  • The second event is a menopause mentor training session  on Friday 20th October from 9:30am to 12pm on Microsoft Teams.

We would like to invite you to become a menopause mentor, to join our growing staff champion members and to support your colleagues. Join us to understand how menopause impacts a woman's life, career, relationships and mental health. At the end of this session, you will be given slides to hold your own sessions or be able to host a local menopause cafe.

To register your interest in either or both of the sessions, please contact the Wellbeing team at wellbeing@eastamb.nhs.uk.
