MP opens Stevenage PTS station

Stephen McPartland MP who officially opened the Stevenage PTS station

Our new patient transport service (PTS) station in Stevenage was officially opened last week by the local MP, Stephen McPartland.

Mr McPartland MP and our CEO, Tom Abell, were shown around the new station and the vehicles and spoke with various members of staff.

The new station opened on 5th October 2021 and is the hub of the PTS in east & north Hertfordshire. It is where many of the staff, vehicles and control are based where transport for between 230 & 310 patients is arranged every day.

Paul Crockett, Service Delivery Manager of PTS in East & North Hertfordshire, said: “It was great to finally officially open the station and welcome our local MP Stephen McPartland to the station, as well as Tom.

“The new station makes our working life easier by giving all staff a new base where they have all facilities that have not been previously available in an older shared station with the fire service.

“Most vehicles can now be stored in the garage meaning that delays for our patients to get timely transport are reduced.”
