New combined ID/access cards

Transparent EEAST crest

To increase Trust security and lower administrative costs, the Trust is moving towards a combined ID and access card.

There will be a phased changed from the current set-up of the black fob and separate ID card to an ID card which provides both functions.

The new card won’t have an expiry date and all cards will be provided with an NHS embossed lanyard and expanding reel for clinicians. All clinical students will have their cards produced by the training department and there should be no need for them to apply for an ID card.

Access and ID cards for contractors will be distinctive in yellow holders with yellow lanyards.

Replacement or new cards for other staff, contractors or agency staff will need to be applied for via a form available on East24, which needs to be processed electronically and emailed to estates from the applicant’s line manager.

Please see East24 for further information and the forms.
