New defibrilator roll-out started

New defibrillator 2 May 2014

Staff from clinical, operational, fleet, clinical engineering and technology and telecommunications are working together to ensure the successful rollout of the Trust’s new defibrillators, which started last week in Letchworth.

Phase one of the rollout has begun in west Essex and Hertfordshire, with training for staff delivered first and equipment installed in vehicles afterwards. Vehicles will retain the older Zoll units for a period of three months during the switch-over and installations will also be planned in line with the arrival of new ambulances.

Each session lasts approximately three hours and will be for a maximum of six people. Due to the current levels on demand on the service, where possible we are asking staff to attend on overtime; if you can’t attend on overtime, your training may unfortunately be delayed until such a time as we can release you.

Further information regarding training will be provided by your duty locality officers, station supervisors and via the notice boards at your stations. If you have any queries regarding the training or rollout of the new Corpuls3 defibrillators, you can also email the project team at corpuls3support@eastamb.nhs.uk.
