New mandatory training handbook has landed

Ambulance side shot

The brand new Staff Information & Mandatory Training handbook and assessment booklets have landed across the Trust.

The handbook now includes general information about the Trust, particularly useful to new starters, as well as mandatory training chapters. The Handbook will not routinely be reissued annually in future, so please keep this copy after you have completed your training assessment. The smaller separate mandatory training and updates booklet will be refreshed and reissued annually. New content, notice of any changes and updates will be published in this booklet, together with mandatory training assessment questions. After a number of years the amendments and additions will be rolled into a new issue of the full handbook.

If you prefer to complete your training online, you can via our new e-learning portal, LearnZone which launched last week. When completing online, you don’t have to complete in one go, you can dip in and out of the sections you need to finish, as and when you have time. When you have successfully completed the assessment, your results will be sent automatically through to the learning and development unit who in turn report these to managers, so there is no need for you to pass on copies.

All staff who are in their second year of employment with the Trust need to complete the 2016-17 training assessment. This includes Student Paramedics from their second year. The 2015-16 training assessment will also be made available on line shortly on LearnZone to support staff that still need to complete it.

If you have any questions about the new e-learning site, or the staff handbook, please contact Learning and Development Manager Mike Magowan, at mike.magowan@eastamb.nhs.uk
