New provider for staff eyecare

Wellbeing at EEAST graphic

Following staff consultation and feedback we have taken the decision to change our free wellbeing eyecare offer provider from Vision Express to Specsavers.

Staff had reported that they were having difficulty finding branches of Vision Express in their local area due to several local store closures.

Specsavers will offer staff the same eyecare service. The offer entitles you to a free eyecare check if you use a computer regularly for work. It includes a free Specsavers VDU eye test and a free pair of prescription glasses from their £49 range or £49 towards glasses when required solely and specifically for VDU use. Alternatively, it entitles you to £20 price reduction if purchasing from the £99 range with premium club. Anything exceeding this amount will need to be paid by you.

Once you have received your voucher, you need to contact the Specsavers store of your choice to arrange your appointment. We advise that you do not make this appointment until you have received your voucher. Ahead of your appointment you will need to print off the voucher and take it with you to your appointment.

Please note we are unable to pay costs retrospectively so please use the DSE user form ahead of your appointment.

To apply for your test voucher please complete the Habitual Display Screen Equipment (DSE) user form, available to download at the bottom of this article.

Please note that this application must be supported by your manager. We will accept an email from your manager with your application attached as evidence that you have manager authorisation to apply. Following this, if you are eligible for an eyecare voucher and have a valid EEAST Payroll Number, the voucher will then be emailed to you.

Thank you,

The Wellbeing Team
