New role available: Deputy Director - Urgent and Emergency Care

This is a joint post between HWE ICB and the East of England Ambulance Service covering the scope of the Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) programme across the ICS including the development of a locality based model as part of the EEAST Clinical Strategy.

  • The role will lead the provision of an efficient, effective and high quality, professional and co-ordinated commissioning function for such areas within the scope of the role, capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements. This includes securing quality, safe, robust and appropriate commissioning of integrated UEC services within scope, which provide value for money for the local population and promote integration across providers and sectors.
  • The role will oversee the creation of the EEAST Business Unit for HWE ICB, which will include delegated decision-making authority where required to ensure improved integration of services at place.

NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the local NHS organisation that plans and oversees how NHS money is spent and makes sure health services work well and are of high quality. The ICB’s role is to join up health and care services, improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities for the 1.5 million people who live in Hertfordshire and West Essex.
