Payments for substantive staff with management overtime contracts

Complexities with this process has meant the payments will be made on the September supplementary payment run on 29 September 2023, being identifiable on this supplementary payslip, and with emails to go out to staff identified as eligible on 27 September 2023. Thank you for your patience while this has been worked through.

Our finance team has worked through over 4 years of payroll data to identify those substantive staff who are on management overtime contracts, and determined whether they meet the eligibility and regularity criteria.

Retrospective calculations, covering two periods have been performed following the requirements established for those periods:

• April 2019 to March 2021 (arising from the National Agreement - Holiday Pay), and
• April 2021 onwards (currently up to 30 June 2023) (following the Interim Agreement for Overtime on Annual Leave).

Ongoing payments

Payments are currently being made quarterly to staff under the Interim Agreement for Overtime on Annual Leave. The last payment made in August 2023 was in respect of the April 2023 to June 2023 payments of overtime, additional hours, emergency work payments and meal break compensation payments. This payment in September will bring management overtime contracts for substantive staff up to this date.

Payments to all substantive staff under this agreement are planned to be made:

The payment to cover the period 1 July to 2023 to 30 September 2023 is planned to be made in the November 2023 payment run.

The payment to cover the period 1 October 2023 to 31 December 2023 is planned to be made in the February 2024 payment run.

The payment to cover the period 1 January 2024 to 31 March 2024 is planned to be made in the May 2024 payment run.

Substantive members of staff with management overtime contracts will be included in these payments.
