Managers can spend much of their valuable time getting drawn into relationship difficulties and conflict situations.

Handled well, things improve, handled not so well and the situation gets worse, possibly putting you off tackling similar issues again in future.

This is a practical course run by the Trust’s Mediation Service and Freedom to Speak Up Team supporting you to develop the skills and confidence to have management discussions and effectively manage workplace conflict before disagreement escalates to formal complaints and / or entrenchment.

The informal dialogue approach fosters good working relations and visible engagement between manager and staff members that ultimately makes a difference for everyone in the workplace.

Key learning and skills to develop and put into action by attending this module are:

  • What causes workplace conflict
  • How we react to workplace conflict
  • Resolving concerns: Discussion skills
  • Signposting to other support mechanisms

This training course will give delegates the skills and understanding to manage conflict better and find lasting solutions.

This training is hosted by the Trusts Mediation Service and Freedom to Speak Up Team.

Any individuals with Line management and/or supervisory responsibilities are invited to take part in this training.
