Responder bag stolen in Essex

Clinical kit pic

A paramedic responder bag, which included oxygen and a full drugs bag, was stolen from the back of an ambulance last night (20th May) in mid-Essex.

Although the bag did not contain any morphine or diazepam, the paramedic’s attendant coat was also taken which contained their record book.

Thankfully the crew are fine and well, but we’d like to ask all staff to be extra vigilant and ensure that vehicles are locked and equipment stored away safely wherever possible. Even taking a just a few seconds to scan the vehicle before you leave it to ensure things like paper patient care records are out of sight can help.

We’re working with police to help them with their investigations, who will also be sharing advice with the public later today.
