Restart a Heart Day volunteers needed

Restart a Heart Day events 2019

We’re looking for volunteers to support national Restart a Heart Day, teaching school pupils about the life-saving benefits that immediate and effective CPR can have on a patient in cardiac arrest.

Restart a Heart Day is taking place on Tuesday 18th October and is the UK’s biggest mass CPR training event. Held annually in mid-October, it aims to educate people about the importance of knowing how to deliver CPR in an emergency, and the benefits that administering CPR early on can have for the patient.

EEAST regularly supports the event, with staff and Community First Responders going into secondary schools across the region and training students with life-saving CPR skills and this year is no exception.

To volunteer you just need to be free on
Tuesday 18th October and be happy to speak to small groups of secondary school students about CPR and demonstrate the techniques.

Jon Needle, Community Response Manager, said: “It’s great to be back supporting Restart A Heart Day, something we’ve not been able to do for a couple of years due to the pandemic. If you would like to help please get in touch and if you’re not free on the day then please spread the word in your local community as CPR is such a valuable skill for everyone to learn. We want to involve as many people as possible in the local events.’

If you have any questions, please contact please contact email Jon Needle.

If you can’t attend on the day but still want to be involved, please tell your friends and family about Restart A Heart Day
