The ambulance was responding to an incident just before 4pm on Saturday [6th August] when it was involved in a collision with a car and a van.

By circumstance, off duty EEAST staff were driving past and attended their colleagues and other patients before ambulances arrived.

Three EEAST staff were taken to the James Paget hospital for treatment. The driver and passenger of the car have been taken to hospital, while the driver of the van was uninjured.

None are now considered to have serious or significant injuries and welfare support has been provided to staff and local teams.

Following the incident, the Norfolk system management immediately provided extra staff support to help cover the absence of staff involved in the incident and ensure wider patient safety .
