Seeds to celebrate EEAST Charity

Charity seed packets

To celebrate the launch of the new EEAST Charity brand identity, the charity is issuing a selection of British Native Wildflower seeds, Forget-me-not seeds and Sunflower seeds to offices, depots and stations across the region.

Kate Lott, Head of the Charity said, ‘We would encourage colleagues to plant the seeds to enhance our often-neglected outdoor spaces, creating interest, to support biodiversity and promote wildlife. Where sites are leased or have limited space, seeds can be planted in pots or planters, which could be supported through an application to the charity.’

Please note: Those wishing to plant directly in the ground on leased sites would need to obtain landlord permission prior to planting.

Seeds will be distributed shortly via AGMs and local managers, subject to availability, additional seeds can be requested by completing this form – https://forms.office.com/e/SuNiSHxQPp

To encourage planting, nurturing and blooming – the Charity would love to see your pictures, whether it be your inventive planters, EEAST tallest sunflower, ‘workplace in bloom’ or gardening achievements.  Later in the gardening year, they will choose the best displays from photos received and entrants will be awarded funds for their station to spend on health and wellbeing / enhancing rest room, office space or outside areas. The first prize will be £500, with four runners up prizes of £250.

Please send any pictures to charitablefunds@eastamb.nhs.uk or via add to social media using the #EEASTinbloom.
