Successful grant secured for EEAST's Charity

Supported by NHS Charities together

EEAST's Charity is thrilled to announce their success in securing a grant of £508k to strengthen Community Response across the East of England.

This has been possible thanks to NHS Charities Together, who will support 10 roving CFR cars across the region, staffed by falls-trained volunteers. The cars will provide a mobile resource within the localities to attend patients in a wider geographical area and provide emergency cover in areas of high demand. The grant will enable volunteers to be upskilled and able to support admission avoidance through falls/low acuity calls.

In addition, the grant will also support the training of 18 targeted CFR groups, providing falls equipment and essential training for volunteers to provide support to patients in local communities.

Planning is already underway and further details will be announced in the next few weeks. Both schemes will be funded until December 2023 and the planned go-live for the projects is spring 2022.
