There is still time to sign up for our International Women's Day event

Following the success of previous years, EEAST are again co-hosting an event to celebrate International Women's Day with Essex Police and Essex Fire and Rescue Service.

Deputy Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Jane Gardner will be our host for the day and there will be the opportunity to listen and engage with speakers about domestic abuse, menopause and gender stereotypes - a full agenda of the day will be shared closer to the event.

The event, which will be at Kelvedon Park, is fully booked to attend in person, but there are still spaces to join us virtually on Wednesday 8th March from 9.30am to 4.15pm.

Please not we have previously contacted those participants who have already registered regarding industrial action that was due to take place, but as this is no longer happening, EEAST will be attending the event as originally planned.

This year's International Women's Day theme is #EmbraceEquity

What do you mean by equity?
Equity refers to fairness and justice and is distinguished from equality. We can all truly embrace equity.  It's not just something we say. It's not just something we write about. It's something we need to think about, know, and embrace.  Equity means creating a fair and equal world.

Charity Fundraiser
Last year our IWD event raised an incredible £1,165 for the Lady McAdden Breast Cancer Trust – a record breaker! This year we are raising funds for Next Chapter a Domestic Abuse charity based in Essex.
