Three-hundred miles for the Sick Children's Trust

Lisa, a QSAP from Waveney, cycled from London to Paris earlier this month to raise money for a charity that has been helping a colleague during his son’s treatment for leukaemia.

Lisa said: “Last summer, in a moment of craziness, I entered the cycling challenge from London to Paris. At the same time, colleague Jamie’s son started treatment at Addenbrookes Hospital, so I asked him to choose a charity I could raise money for.”

Paramedic Jamie chose the Sick Children's Trust which provides free, high-quality ‘home from home’ accommodation, as well as emotional and practical support, to families with children in hospital in the UK.

Lisa said the event pushed her to the limits: “The challenge was hard; we rode approximately 75 miles each day, covering a total of 300 miles and 10,000 feet of ascent over four days. Finally, on day four we pedalled into Paris on an overcast day, and survived the crazy drivers and the wet cobbles, as we rode up the Champs-Elysees, twice around the Arc De Triomphe, and reached the Eiffel Tower.

“I am hoping to raise as much money as possible to support Jamie, his wife Claire and son Ollie, so please donate if you can via my JustGiving page.”
