Today is World Mental Health Day

Today is World Mental Health Day which is about raising awareness of mental health and driving positive change, the theme for this year is ‘Mental health is a universal human right’. 

It’s also a chance to talk openly about mental health, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to get help if you are struggling.

If you need help or support, these services are available for you:

  • Mental Health First Aider’s (MHFA’s)
  • Trauma Risk Management (TRIM)
  • Wellbeing Champions
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) - The EAP provides a free, confidential helpline and website, offering mental health support, work and/or personal relationship problems, legal and family advice, substance misuse and financial advice. 0808 196 2374 (available 24/7).
  • The Ambulance Service Charity (TASC) - If you are in distress, considering self-harm or are having suicidal thoughts, contact The Ambulance Service Charity (TASC) on 02477 987 922. Also offers of help with mental, physical and financial wellbeing. Can include counselling, physiotherapy, help with substance abuse, bereavement, financial issues or general wellbeing.
