After a long and successful training partnership with Beds, Cambs and Herts Police Firearms Unit, TrainEEAST (the Commercial Training Department of EEAST) recently won the account to deliver all of Beds, Cambs, and Herts Police Operational Support Group ‘Tactical Medicines’ training.

The training covers emergency pre-hospital care of patients who have suffered traumatic injuries resulting from violent incidents and also treatment of cardiac arrest in difficult settings.

The individuals trained will be officers of the Beds, Cambs and Herts Police – Operational Group who are riot control colleagues.

This is good news for patient care in Beds, Cambs and Herts as it means police colleagues will be on scene with good levels of knowledge not only to support patients, but also to provide excellent handovers to EEAST frontline crews.

The initial training programme will be at least a year but is likely to carry on much longer.

This account win is good news for EEAST’s patients, but also for TrainEEAST as it means that revenue earned for the training will come back into TrainEEAST and as we move into profitability, we can fund community training projects. More on this later in the year. It’s also testimony to our every strengthening training partnership with the police more generally.

The first course runs on the 17th April 2023 and runs for four days.

Mark Hayes (Commercial and CFR Training Manager) said: ‘This is great news for Jess and all of us in the TrainEEAST Team. So gratifying that all the hard work winning new business continues to pay off. We expect to announce more account wins shortly.

TrainEEAST also delivers training to internal colleagues and teams for better-than-market and any profit we do make goes back to the Trust.'
