TrainEEAST wins Suffolk County Council training business

After a successful tender process, TrainEEAST (the Commercial Training Department of EEAST) has won the business to deliver a bespoke suite of courses to Suffolk County Council.

The courses will cover Oxygen Therapy, Basic Life Support, Medical Emergencies, Gynaecological Emergencies and will be delivered to various units within Suffolk County Council including Suffolk Youth Justice Service, Home First and Home-Link. The contract runs for at least two years with an option to extend.

his is really good news for patient care in Suffolk as it means care colleagues working for Suffolk County Council will be able to give vulnerable and young patient groups much needed care in emergency pre-hospital situations. It will also mean that handovers to EEAST frontline crews will be more effective.

This account win is good news for EEAST’s patients, but also for TrainEEAST as it means that revenue earned for the training will come back into TrainEEAST and as we move into profitability, we can fund community training projects. More on this later in the year.

The first course runs on the 13th April 2023 at Home-Link in Bury St Edmunds.

Mark Hayes (Commercial and CFR Training Manager) said: ‘We see this as a very strong opportunity for the team. We can replicate what we will do for Suffolk County Council and sell it to other county councils and also expand what we do for SCC year on year. This is great news for Jess and all of us in the TrainEEAST Team and testimony to the hard work that goes into to sourcing new pieces of business and winning tenders in our competitive marketplace.

Note: TrainEEAST also delivers training to internal colleagues/teams for better-than-market prices and booking your training with us keeps the EEAST funding within the Trust. Enquiries to jess.butwright@eastamb.nhs.uk
