Trust moves to standard loading list across A&E ambulances

Ambulance Side Angle

The Trust is now in a position to roll out a standard loading list for all frontline ambulances across EEAST.

This is a positive step that will standardise the layout of all ambulances to reduce any variation and ensure this standard loading list is a responsive to patient needs whilst reducing further patient safety issues.

The loading lists have all been agreed through a sign off process that included colleagues from multiple directorates around the Trust with the standardised approach supporting CQC recommendations.

In response to patient safety and serious incident (SI) outcomes the standard loading list has been designed to address some of the learning that has come out of this.

Now a standard loading list has been agreed by the Trust it is essential that there is no local variation to the layout of any Trust vehicles to ensure this standard approach is consistent for all Trust vehicles.

The make ready teams will be leading on the roll out which is due to start from week commencing 14th November 2022 with an aim to have all Trust vehicles moved across to the standard loading list by 27th November. During the transition period all trust vehicles will be clearly identified as being loaded to either the ‘new Trust loading list’ or to the ‘old Trust loading list’ so it will be essential for all operational staff to ensure they are familiar with the layout of their vehicle when their shift commences.

The make ready teams and local managers will have examples of vehicles set out in the new loading list and be able to answer any questions around local implementation.

This positive step across the Trust will support patient safety and reduce variation across EEAST.
