Friends’, Families and Travellers

Friends, Families and Travellers have recently released guidance on tackling maternal health inequalities in the GRT communities.

As part of their Reaching Out programme, the Traveller movement are delivering a series of Connected Community events, bringing together secondary school leaders, careers teachers, careers leaders, youth services, employers and other agencies working with the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, to help shape appropriate and meaningful pathways into employment, education and training for young people from the communities.

This event, supported by The Education People, Kent County Council, Kent and Medway Careers Hub, The Careers and Enterprise Council and Medway Council, is the third of a series of 6 Connected Communities events across the UK.

The Traveller Movement Conference - Thursday 16th November 2023, Lambeth Town Hall

This conference aims to create a dialogue between the Traveller community and other stakeholders in order to develop solutions and strategies to improve the economic, social and health outcomes for Gypsy, Romany and Traveller (GRT) people.

A full day conference bringing together stakeholders in local authorities, employers, educators, youth services, and young Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller people. From insightful talks and workshops, to networking opportunities and connecting with employers and community services, the event will bring together GRT people and allies. The event will also aim to raise awareness and provide a platform for people to share their experiences and stories.
