Update on Industrial Action dates

We have had confirmation from both the Unison and GMB unions over dates for industrial action over the national pay issue. The GMB will take industrial action on 6th and 20th March. UNISON has also confirmed their recent ballots have met the threshold for industrial action and have now confirmed 8th March as the first date of strike action.

We will publish detailed Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for managers and for staff about industrial action early next week.

These will be challenging days for our service and our colleagues to ensure we can provide as safe a service as possible.

We must do all we can to keep patients safe and some health union members will continue their work in line with an agreement between employers and unions.

Please ensure that when talking to patients or the public, they know that regardless of any action taking place, people who need care should continue to come forward as normal, especially in emergency and life-saving cases.
