Volunteers Week – Have you heard about our Community Engagement Group?

Volunteers Need to Know banner

To mark Volunteers Week 2022, today we’re talking about one of our vital group of volunteers, the Community Engagement Group (CEG).

The CEG currently consists of 24 members, three of which are new to the Trust - welcome aboard! Of the 24, five have completed over 10 years of volunteering for EEAST which is fantastic!

There are six team leaders, one in each county of EEAST. The CEG go out into the community and act as a voice for the patients. They speak to the public and generate feedback from our service users, helping ensure that we provide the right level of care for our communities.

‘I chose to volunteer for EEAST as I am motivated by the positive ethos of the organisation in its ongoing pursuit for high quality service and care delivery which puts patients and the public at the heart of what it does.’ Says CEG member Indra Jones.

‘In turn, I believe passionately that high quality patient care depends on high quality education and support of its’ staff and learners to achieve best outcomes for everyone involved.

Being a Community Engagement Group member allows me to draw upon both my academic and clinical experiences and engage meaningfully with staff and learners through education support.’
