Following the success of previous years, EEAST are again co-hosting an event to celebrate International Women's Day with Essex Police and Essex Fire and Rescue Service.

Deputy Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Jane Gardner will be our host for the day and there will be the opportunity to listen and engage with speakers about domestic abuse, menopause and gender stereotypes - a full agenda of the day will be shared closer to the event.

The event, which will be at Kelvedon Park, takes place on Wednesday 8th March from 9.30am to 4.15pm, with the opportunity to join both in person and online.

In person places are limited to 100 people across all services, so be sure to sign up asap so you don’t miss out.

If you do miss out of tickets to attend in person or are unable to make the event, you can also sign up to join online so you still get to be part of the day.

How to book your tickets

You can choose to join us online via Teams or in person at Kelvedon Park - places are limited at SHQ and are available on a first come, first served basis, so please book as soon as you can.

Please confirm by Wednesday 1 March if you will be joining us. If you have any dietary or accessibility requirements to make us aware of, please email us at corp.comms@essex-fire.gov.uk.

This year's International Women's Day theme is #EmbraceEquity.

What do you mean by equity?
Equity refers to fairness and justice and is distinguished from equality. We can all truly embrace equity.  It's not just something we say. It's not just something we write about. It's something we need to think about, know, and embrace.  Equity means creating a fair and equal world.

Charity Fundraiser
Last year our IWD event raised an incredible £1,165 for the Lady McAdden Breast Cancer Trust – a record breaker! This year we are raising funds for Next Chapter a Domestic Abuse charity based in Essex. If you would like to donate a prize for the raffle or even bake a cake, please get in touch by contacting the Ashleigh.Rickards@eastamb.nhs.uk
