CAD progress: Bedford go-live planned next month

Implementation plans for our new CAD system, called CLERIC, are well underway and we are aiming to go live in Bedford EOC in the early hours of Wednesday, 18th November.  CLERIC will then be rolled out to the Chelmsford and Norwich EOC, currently planned for February.

Gary Morgan, Head of EOC, said: “We have decided to put CLERIC into one EOC to start with, so we can have time to bed the new system in, address any teething problems and carry out the roll-out in a managed way that has the least impact on staff and patients. I want to thank everyone for their hard work in getting us to this point where we can start the roll-out plan; in time the CLERIC system is going to allow us to better manage 999 calls, providing our EOC staff with a better system to use and giving patients a better service.”

As we approach the implementation date for CLERIC in Bedford EOC, please be aware that some IT support and requests may not be delivered immediately due to the focus of putting the new system in. For example, you may experience a slower response to problems logged in October and November – if your IT problem can wait please let the IT service desk know so they can prioritise other more immediate calls.  If an issue is urgent and/or you cannot wait any longer, please escalate using the escalation path as detailed here on East24.

It will also be necessary to use the Courtyard Room at Bedford for three weeks from 9th– 29th November.  This means that anybody that has already booked the room during this time will unfortunately need to find an alternative venue; the project team will be liaising with anybody that has already placed bookings during this time.  The team would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and pass on their thanks for the support received.

New updates will be posted onto Need to Know.
