Choose Me Not A&E campaign hits Kings Lynn

More than 200 people were given free blood pressure checks in King’s Lynn earlier this month, as part of a campaign to ease pressure on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s A&E.

Frontline staff from the area spoke with people about their blood pressure and caring for themselves during the Choose Me Not A&E community event held in the Vancouver Quarter.

Run by the West Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group (WNCCG) and Wisbech Local Commissioning Group, it also allowed our staff to get feedback about the service.

The event formed part of the Choose Me Not A&E summer 2015 campaign which aims to reduce the amount of people visiting A&E when there are often more suitable options via pharmacies, GPs, minor injuries units and the NHS 111 service. It also involved GPs and pharmacists.
