Clinical visits – what you’re telling us

Clinical station visits Sept 15

The clinical teams have continued to travel the region’s 7,500 square miles over the past few weeks, with Watford being the latest station to receive a visit.

The visiting team included non-executive and executive directors, clinical managers and Staffside, who took the opportunity to listen to staff experiences about their roles, and how we can improve their working environment. The visits also included IP&C checks to the surrounding stations, and the chance to chat to staff in those areas as well.

Issues you’ve been raising have included standardised drug bags, clinical development (particularly for our emergency care practitioners), added pressure due to experienced staff leaving, and the FERNO track chairs.

Sandy Brown, Director of Nursing and Clinical Quality, said: “In particular, many of you have spoken to us about the usability of the carry chair that was rolled out earlier this year, and have said it’s not very easy to manoeuvre. It’s clear that we also need to have focus on career development and opportunities to expand roles.

“Your feedback is really valuable, and we’re now going to be looking into what options might be available to us.”

Visits planned this month include:

  • Monday 14th - Ipswich
  • Monday 21st - Basildon
  • Tuesday 29th - Norwich office – support staff / EOC
