Discussion and learning event: invite to air ambulance day

The East Anglian Air Ambulance are inviting colleagues here at EEAST to attend their clinical governance day – a day completely dedicated to case studies, discussion, and joint learning.

Taking place on Friday, 6th February, in Bury St Edmunds, the team will be discussing a number of specific incidents they’ve attended; on the agenda this time is a case of a young child RSI, a session on trauma resuscitation and a look at acute coronary syndrome and blood gas analysis.

The event is running at South Lee School (IP33 2BT) and will open to EEAST staff at 10.30am (directions at the bottom of this article).

PROGRAMME  

10.30-11am: TRiM and trauma risk management 

11-11.30am: ET CO2 in monitoring critically ill patients 

11.30am-12pm: ‘Service adherence to the trauma tirage tool’ and ‘indications for TXA use’ 

12-12.30pm: Seven-year-old RSI 

12.30-1pm: Lunch (kindly sponsored by AstraZeneca)

1.30-2.15pm: Trauma resus

2.15pm-2.30pm: Tea break

2.30-3pm: Acute Coronary Syndrome 

3-3.30pm: Longitudinal audit and ET tube occlusion

3.30-4pm: Blood gas analysis

DIRECTIONS: From the A14, take the Bury St Edmunds East slip-road and follow the sign A143 Haverhill/A134 Sudbury. Go straight over the next two roundabouts and turn left at the third, signposted South Lee School. At the fork in the road, keep left. The school is then on the right hand side.

On entry to the school sports ground, take a sharp left and follow the track round the back of the large sports hall and park at the end. You will the pavilion on the right hand side.
