Leadership Academy courses: all you need to know

The NHS Leadership Academy is now recruiting for their leadership programmes.

There are a number of courses available for all levels of leadership –whether you are just starting out or are responsible for bigger teams.

If you are interested in applying you will need to:

• check whether you have the relevant experience and/or qualifications to meet the application criteria
• ensure your current role will support the development opportunity the programme provides
• have the support of your line manager (who needs to be a budget holder)
• be up to date on your mandatory and statutory training
• have your development evidenced through documentation in your PDP
• all applications will need to be checked and signed by the authorising budget holder line manager and locality director before approval can be made from the Trust Leadership & Management Lead within organisational development
• be prepared to sign a contract with the NHS Leadership Academy
• be prepared to sign a contract with EEAST to support this development
• know that numbers are limited to these programmes for sign up for 15/16, therefore if there is more than one application per locality then it will go to an application and interview selection panel within EEAST
• be aware that if a locality has not used its place it may be offered to another locality on the waiting list.

As the course is no longer free, if your application is approved by the Leadership Academy the Trust will be contacted as your sponsor to see if it is in a position to support your submission.
